I had that 500mm f5 and regret selling it (sigh).  Was a lousy lens
with terrble flare but was the most impressive thing going
with that huge hunk of glass.   Also have the 80-200, bought
the first one in Portland 10 years ago.  Always wanted a 
(archetectural) PerspectiveControl and that fisheye. 
Things it's the lenses you rarely use which are the most fun.
  Yes the 4x5 is great with its adjustments (mine's a Wista)
you can compensate for almost anything if you have an hour or 2.
