My wife talking with my MDs wife in England turned to me to settle an argument: One says quart larger than a liter other says quart is smaller than liter. I said they are both right. Imperial quart is 20% larger than American quart - liter is in the middle. >Oh yeah - one of those questions, eh? Similar to what weighs more - a pound >of feathers or a pound of gold. Of course there are two different weight >scales and as a result the feathers weigh more. I like 'avoirdupois', it sounds dirtier than Troy. 1 Troy ounce = 24 scruples.
