Thanks Phil,
BTW (as those listers who have met me will attest), I am not a Brit. I am
Britt. Born and raised a Floridian and a "made to feel at home" ex-pat living
here in the UK :) I see both sides of the battle from the high prices and crazy
levels of tax I pay for fuel here to the gas guzzling but cheap to own
American cars of my youth (and frequent trips back home). Love the Ferraris
but my
day to day has been a 45-55mpg BMW Diesel for many years!

>From the Brit,

"I hate high gas prices but I will pay. I don't for a second expect
drillling
in Florida or Alaska will make any difference ever to what I pay in either
the US or the UK. Any extra oil will be swept up in the global markets and
will just help China grow FASTER. Its the population folks that is the
problem,
its growing faster than we are finding oil. The PRICE ISNT COMING DOWN."

I think that most fail to realise the truth in the Brits statement, the only
time we will ever see a consistent reduction in fuel prices will be when we
finally discover sufficient alternatives to internal combustion then and only
then will the need come down....but, due to the huge population growth in
Asia and China, this will be a long time coming, 50 years will not surprise
me,
but I doubt that I will benefit.
Phil
