Hey Tom: That was a belt-fed 7.92 MG-34 that protruded over the bonnet. And as for my 'Thing,' I thought that you weren't looking when we pulled off the road for?that 'comfort break.' Or are you talking about the Kubelwagen? <g> -----Original Message----- From: Tom Subject: Re: [Ferrari] Fwd: What Should I Buy -- CONTINUED You forgot about the "optional" .50 cal. machine gun on the hood/bonnet, Bubba... Ah, what a "Thing." Huachuca in our Dino gt4s.? As you know, its beautiful grass-land rolling hills interspaced with vinyards, and more importantly Tasting Rooms. Poor Tom was a stickler for times, but I thought, what the hell, it must be 5 pm somewhere in the world! He told me that 'he likes to watch.' <g> > > Anyway, the perfect vehicle for off-road down there was my Type 181 Kubelwagen. I explored the beautiful Cochise Stronghold in the Dragoon Mountains and the Chirachuas, which rise to 9,750 feet, where we went off-road camping many weekends. Maybe instead of the G-wagen, a Kubelgagen might be the answer. They have?the ultra low gear Kombi transmission and with the locked rear-end, I never got stuck. What a blast with the top down and the windshield folded, following some goat trail @ 7,000 ft. looking for a campsite. > > > BRIGANDBAR [at] aol.com wrote: > > >Steve: > > > >While, of course, you don't have a Fire Engine like mine, so that is always? > >an alternative, but should you seek to avoid the curiosity-seekers that it? > >attracts I'd have to recommend that you find yourself an earlier model MB? > >G-wagen and do something new for a while, play on the trails.
