Hey Bubba, Really rubbing elbows with some big name dudes! ;-)re the Sharknose Ferrari and P Hill - the 2007 IIRC Goodwood did a segment on this Ferrari - Hill was there and I believe he thought the repro was better than the original - tighter steering and more exact shift linkage - he was impressed with the effort!
I wonder if Enzo ever regretted destroying all those old Ferrari's? I always liked the one that had the huge fuel tanks hung between the wheels - I think there was a Lancia with a similar design - circa late 50's/
Anyway thanks for sharing that interesting story - even if you could not reveal that mystery man's name -- I guess I should be able to figure out who it was from the clues but I have never followed wealthy people's actions very closely. ;-)

I just heard the news that Richard (Rick) Wright of the band Pink Floyd has died if cancer at the age of 65. Back in the?early 2000's when I was spending 28 days at an Arizona 'Resort' called Cottonwood, Rick was one of my roomies. Cottonwood tried to pair folks with similiar interests, 4 to a room. Since He and I both wore Breitling Navitimer watches and both owned Ferraris, they bunked us together. In fact, Rick had two Ferraris. A 512-BB for himself and a nice little 246 Dino for his wife. One of the other roomies who is still alive, and I can't divulge his name was a multi-Billionaire who also drove a Ferrari and wore a Breitling. Only his watch?was a handmade solid gold oblong one with two dials. One for his time zone and one for wherever his son was located. This gentleman also won the 'Americas' Cup' and sponsored the all-woman yacht (I forget it's name) whitch turned into a FIASCO!One of the staff, knowing that I was into Italian racing machinery, asked me if I had ever heard of a Mr. (you fill in the name). Hint: he is a current team principal, an old fart?who has a thing for young Super Models. <g> She seemed to know him quite well. ?????????? Go figure ...Anyway, from what I saw of him, Rick was a nice, regular guy who was very knowledgeable about Ferraris and F1 Racing. He was friends of Chris Rae, the English rocker that had a von Tripps fixation and built a copy of Tripps' 1961 156 Sharknose Ferrari?Grand Prix car. The late Phil Hill actually drove it and said that it was spot-on, but built way to well to be a factory car.Yer pal, Ferrari Bubba? _________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe or modify your subscription options, please visit: http://lists.ferrarilist.com/mailman/options/ferrari/l02turner%40comcast.net Sponsored by BooyahMedia.com and F1 Headlineshttp://www.F1Headlines.com/
