Exactly!  Many people use it for a lubricant and I think the can may even 
imply that function.   Actually it was developed as a Water Dispersant - the 
WD is obvious with the 40 standing for 40% moisture.

It does a very good job in situations like that described although most 
*real* lubricants would work as well and may last longer.
