Unless you want to buy gold in person it can be bought from

They're out of Eagles and Buffalos but have Krugerands and Maples 
$790.22/$795.02  - the Ks are 22K and the Maples are 24k - as are the 
Eagles - prices current as of 11/7/08 338pm. CST

They expect to have more Eagles next week.

As far as opening a Swiss acct - it can be done over the internet - a wire 
xfer will make the deposit -perhaps credit cards -  not sure how they deal 
with deposits over $10K.  All will end up available to US Gov.- naturally.
