Ferrari Mailing List: Mondial wheels and tires

As many of you may know, I have purchased Dave Craig's Mondial QV - the car I 
sold to him a decade earlier, the same car I bought from Matt Boyd not too long 
before that.  Took delivery yesterday.  

As is proper, Dave has driven the 390mm tires into slicks.  Today, I have 
driven the wheels off of it - almost literally.  Well, not "driven" per se.  
Rather, I just ordered four new 16" replica Mondial wheels from 
Superperformance in the UK.  Onto those wheels I will mount four new General 
"Exclaim UHP" tires in 245/50ZR16 size.  The width is at the limit for 7" width 
wheels but the 390s are 240mm and fit properly.  The diameter of the new tires 
is the same as stock so speedometer error is null.  And they should be nicely 
sticky.

Next quest is to replace the brake pads, all around.  After that, there are a 
few minor electrical glitches that Dave didn't get around to fixing.  Yea, fun.
