Morning Folks, I'm on a mission to rectify all the ugly little doo-dad failures in my Mondial QV's Check Control system. That's that rectangular panel of warning lights on the console. The panel, center dash, is simply a bank of lights connected to simple make/break circuits (and that needs attention too) but the Check Control is a mix of TTL and RRL logic, connected to an array of switches and sensors. Simple, yet complex because it isn't well documented. Understanding, repairing and documenting that beast is my quest. Step one is to understand what it SHOULD do when working properly. The owner's manual and the shop manual explain this but in broken English. It appears that a green "all's clear" light should glow if the system passes all tests. I've never seen that green light on. I did learn, reading last night, that the engine and transmission oil level sensors should read only for the first 5 seconds or so after switch-on. That is, they make a quick test of fluid level with the car level and before start-up. The other sensors operate continuously, or so it seems. My 'low coolant' light comes on for a short time, sometimes, and only on warm start-up. So I ask; please tell me what your Check Control does and what it reports when you first switch-on and after you start the car. And please tell me if your car is a Standard or U.S. Specification. I'll compile this information and share it as I document the correct operation of the Check Control and the repair of my car's C.C. system. regards, rick
