Also early P car 356 syndrome.  One was to lift the hood a few inches to 
unset the latch then lower.  It was called "service station hood."  That was 
reminiscent of the olden days - drive into a gas station, run over the black 
ding-ding hose, five attendants would rush out and "service" your car.  Gas 
tank being in the front - fill tank - and a $1.25 / hour attendant would 
pull down hood to lock it.  Boinnnng - oops. All in a days work.  heh heh
