Cars not being around I have to agree with you. But my house built in 1979 has 1 foot concrete walls and roof with 1 1/8 inch rebar. 3700 sqr feet tornado proof, worry free sleep in torando alley priceless. During construction not 1 but 2 full size bulldozers were parked on the roof. The only downside is that I have to mow my roof in the spring, summer and fall.

Great points Phil. Unless its been put out to pasture, in a junk yard or worse, cars from the '40s - '70s are still around. Fifty years from now, how many cars from the 2000-2010 era will still be around. Today's cars seem to be more throw-away than ever before. I see the same thing with houses. Houses built at the turn of the (last) century are still structurally sound. Will he houses built today be around in 100 years? I think not. Houses from the '70s, using 'modern construction techniques' are falling apart. I guess the point is; the life expectancy of about everything built today is much shorter than it was is days past. What does that say for our children's world if for some unforeseen reason, modern construction (of anything) declines?

Whoa! Must be Thursday...

Fellow old mans club member............memories are
incredible, and,
at the rate we are going, they may be all that we have
left.

Last time I checked there were at least 15 domestic auto
manuf. that
have gone out of bus. since WW II...........

Will we be adding a couple more in the near
future.......

We used to say tings like "man my old mans Hudson
had a back seat so
wide that I could" you fill in the blank,
........what will our grand
kids be saying 25 years from now some thing like "
I keep hearing
about how great my grandads Impala SS was, but I've
never seen one."

   Oh well.
