Give it time, you're not done yet :-)

It worked with my oldest (now 36), failed with my next (now 31, she was/is very headstrong and manipulative), does not work at all with my son (8 yo, it just gets his back up), and works with my youngest (6) for now, but she's just too sweet to say no to :-). Some semi-Ferrari content - My newest car purchase (American I might add ), a FFR Type 65 Daytona Coupe, was modeled after the one that kicked Enzo's butt. :-) I know a lot here on the list will turn their noses up but it's been a load of fun building my own. We head to the dyno this Thursday to break it in.

I have two 11 year olds (blended family). And "no" from me still works. :)

Start them early - be consistent - and never get into a power struggle with
them. However, if you DO get into a power struggle with them.... win.

I was going to say "Wait until they hit 10 or 12 or 14 THEN come back and tell us how well the strong-arm "NO!" works." :-) It wouldn't work any better with the spoiled brat unions either. The situation is much too complex for simplistic solutions.

Enjoy your mastery of the situation while you can, it won't last long.

NO!

It works with children, it works with employees.
LOL

As a new father I'll forgive you this one...

Wait until yours hits about 5 or 6... I recommend you take some pictures so you can look back to right now and remember how easy it all was :)
