Hi Rick -
The AAV looks similar to the one used on many 74-83ish 911s - they can often he repaired (have instructions here somewhere if you need them) by drilling out the rivits and disassembling it. They can be tested by storing a few hours in the freezer then putting 12v to the connections and blowing it with a hairdryer to simulate heat from the engine. It's basically a controlled vacuum leak - starts closed when cold and opens when warmed - or the other way around --

How's it coming? Find Injectors for less than $20 each yet?

Sincerely,
Larry T (74 911, 91 300D 2.5T)

Hey Larry. The Mondial QV, Euro model, is pretty close. There is no throttle switch and on the euro model, no vacuum bypass on the throttle body. Otherwise, its straight K-Jet.

Can you buy injectors below $20 each? Mine are original. I can buy them for $20 each, shipped free, so $160 total. Well, add another $18 or so for the green o-rings.

As for the aux. air valve, the start injector and the warm-up regulator, I haven't tested them yet so I don't know what's functioning yet and what isn't. I know that the car shows no increase in idle speed when started cold and the mixture smells rich. I'm guessing that the warm up regulator is supplying a pressure drop for enrichment but the aux air valve is NOT working. Still, I'll pull each part off, clean it up and test for proper operation.

I have attached a document that might help. It's for the GTSi and GTBi cars, and can be pressed into service for the Mondial. The Mondial QV service manual has a pretty good section for the FI.

Let's stay connected on this one. Thanks!!!

rick

Hey Rick,
Is the Mondial FI Intake system similar to the 308/328
engine? I have a
manual for the 308 series but not the Mondial and I'd
like to see how
Ferrari puts this stuff together - then I may be able to
speak
intelligently (for a change) ;-) Although that lack never
stopped me
before -

Thx -
