Rich,

Without suggesting that I approve of Obama's implication of creating
up to 600k government positions, I cherish the fact that you call me a
"Govt union leech." I chose public service for my own particular
reasons (i.e.-not financial). Many of us "GS" employees are in fact
not part of a union. My "guaranteed pension sweeter than anything you
will ever see" is available to me only if I work for at least 30 years
in government service and until I am at least 60 years old, and will
be 30% of my salary (if I work 31 years I will get 31%, etc.). Oh, and
I have to pay into the pension fund to get that. I also have to pay my
7.5% so I can get my sweet social security, too. To be complete, we do
get 5% matched in our 401K (TSP), so that is nice.

I used to work for a contractor, and if I were financially motivated I
still would for salary and pension reasons.
