Sounds like the telephone pole is at fault - if it hadn't been there, he wouldn't have hit it!

At least that's the way I expect the brainless owner will see it. ;-)

Rick wrote:"And the only typical result beyond the 'walk away from it' scenario that you describe is the driver trying to find out who he can blame (and sue) for his own stupidity!" I recently heard a story (names omitted on purpose) about a customer who picked up his car from a dealership on a Friday, only to call the dealership on Monday telling them that they worked on his car, it crashed, and now they have to buy him a new car. He emailed pics and everything. Fortunately, the duly appointed rep of said dealership (a personal friend of mine) was smarter than the customer - he was able to find the car *and* the location of the, uh, "incident". Come to find out, the customer had dropped a wheel or two off the right side of the road, over corrected and snapped the car around and slammed it into a telephone pole on the left side of the road (conveniently - for the customer - the telephone pole was behind him in all the pics he took and sent!). This person, like the "footballer" in the original story, is in definite need of a Darwin Award.
