Sounds like the telephone pole is at fault - if it hadn't been there, he 
wouldn't have hit it!

At least that's the way I expect the brainless owner will see it. ;-)

I recently heard a story (names omitted on purpose) about a customer who 
picked up his car from a dealership on a Friday, only to call the dealership 
on Monday telling them that they worked on his car, it crashed, and now they 
have to buy him a new car.  He emailed pics and everything.  Fortunately, 
the duly appointed rep of said dealership (a personal friend of mine) was 
smarter than the customer - he was able to find the car *and* the location 
of the, uh, "incident".  Come to find out, the customer had dropped a wheel 
or two off the right side of the road, over corrected and snapped the car 
around and slammed it into a telephone pole on the left side of the road 
(conveniently - for the customer - the telephone pole was behind him in all 
the pics he took and sent!).  This person, like the "footballer" in the 
original story, is in definite need of a Darwin Award.
