Like the windmill farms which have require 20 years to payoff their cost and high maintenance, oh yes, they have an expected life of 20 years. Roof-top hot water systems are the only viable energy capture device I've heard of which is actually cost-effective. Plus the subsidies which still support ethanol was justified against $8/gal gasoline. Y'all hear about the Minneapolis school but debacle mandating buses use bio fuel which gels at winter temperatures so they now must heat the bus garages. Net loss. Green has always meant inexperienced and lacking wisdom. Still holds.
