OK, I'll throw mine in, although not nearly as impressive as some on this list: 1972 Chevy Vega, first car, paid 100.00 had a 2 speed semi-automatic and used as much oil as gas. 1976 Alfa Spider *, 'first'real' car, still have it although it is in a million pieces and doubt I'll ever put it back together. I could buy a nice one for less than it will cost to put this car back together. 1977 Honda Civic 1200, bought for 300.00 with a blown engine. Put it back together and it made an awesome beater, until the car literally broke in half due to rust. 1980 Subaru 4wd 1600 wagon, it was so slow it was pathetic 1966 Jaguar E-Type 2+2 automatic 1986 Honda Civic CRX Si, first new car I ever bought. $9300.00 out the door, sold to a customer with 30,000 miles. 1988 Honda Civic CRX Si, bought to replace the 86, although a better car in many respects than the 86, not as much fun. 1986 Alfa Romeo GTV-6, bought from a customer with blown driveshaft donuts and clutch for $1000.00 when didn't want to fix it. Awesome car when everything was right. Got rear ended by a kid in a pickup truck a year later. I still kind of miss it. 1965 Alfa Giulia Sprint GT 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider normale, no bumpers or top. Traded an Alfetta sedan parts car and 100.00 for it. A new battery and a set of spark plugs and the thing ran pretty well. Had intentions of restoring it, never got there. Sold it to a member of the CT AROC who turned it into a vintage race car, which I believe he still has and is racing it. 1972 BMW 2002, bought to replace the GTV-6. Had all kinds of cool mods, hot engine, 5 speed close ratio gearbox and a wide body conversion among other things. Sold it to make space for the 308 when I bought it. Didn't get squat for it and kind of wish I had kept it, but it got the 'Boy Racer' out of my system. 1987 Alfa Spider, found languishing in a local body shop. Bought for 2000.00, needing pretty much everything. Sold it to a friend, got it back after several years needing yet more work, and just sold it again. Although technically I only owned it once. 1985 Ferrari 308 GTS QV *, found in the auto hunter magazine of all places, wasn't really looking for one, and the only reason I called on the ad was the car was Black/Black. I have a thing for Black cars. 1995 Land Rover Discovery, traded for a 98 1998 Land Rover Discovery, traded for an 03 1998 Honda Accord 4 door *, Wife's (boring) daily driver 2003 Land Rover Discovery * 1997 Mazda Miata *, wife's car. Decided she wanted her own toy, I tried to find her a giulietta, gave up and got her this. The thing runs like the proverbial Maytag and never needs anything. 1989 BMW 750iL *, bought for 1500.00 from a customer needing a water pump, alternator, transmission and a bunch of other stuff. An amazing car, has in excess of 212,000 miles on it now. Presently for sale. 2000 BMW 528iT *, bought to replace the 750. Unlike most of my cars, this one I paid more than I usually do for cars. Rust free CA car bought sight unseen on ebay last summer. 1948 Chris Craft Deluxe runabout *, ok it is not a car, but it is a way cool old wooden boat, has been re-powered with a buick V-6. Would love to get an old truck or woody wagon of about the same vintage to pull it with. Numerous other parts cars, projects that never got started, etc * denotes cars still owned at this time. -----Original Message----- From: Gavin Bedggood [mailto:gavinnz [at] xtra.co.nz] Sent: Sunday, January 25, 2009 12:58 AM To: Jeff Greenfield Cc: The FerrariList Subject: Re: [Ferrari] Cars we have owned, was: Just A Car Geek Ok I'll play:) Cars owned and sold.... 1970 Ford Escort 2 door sedan 1972 Ford Escort 2 door van 1978 Ford Escort wagon 1970ish Ford Escort 4 door sedan (I am not proud!) 1929 Hillman straight 8 1922 Fiat 501 special 197?
