My father who owned a restoration shop almost bought a basket case 275 GTB/4 in 1978 or so. The car was completely disassembled and needed a complete restoration, and the owner was asking 12K. About the same time, there was a 410 Super America in Westchester county that needed a complete right side after colliding with a tree. Again the asking price at the time was too high to justify purchasing. Going back to the 275, it is amazing how abused and neglected those cars where. the car was barely 15 years old and it was a mess!
