Willi, Bubba, Red, Bill...
The ChiSox left, apparently, but the Colorado Rockies are still playing at
Hi Corbett Field, and the Arizona Diamondbacks are using Tucson Electric Park,
which has been expanded to seat 11,000.
Remember one year on St. Patrick's Day the kids and Karen and I went to a
nice game at TEP, the White Sox vs. the Cubs. Green beer, the whole 9 yards,
er, innings.
Guess we've both been gone too long, I left in '04, seems like nearly 5 1/2
years ago.

Hey Tom: You Okies don't get around much, do ya? Tucson lost it's last Cactus
League team, the White Sox, last year. Now they have this beautiful new
ballpark that the taxpayers will be paying off for years, sitting empty.

Oh, BTW, the Triple A team, the Toros, left two years ago.

Let's see . . . who was it that said, "Build it, and they will come?" The
only things that will be playing in that field for the foreseeable future are
the ground squirrels in center field. Maybe the City Fathers should plant corn.

God, how I miss living in the Old Pueblo. -- Yer pal, Ferrari Bubba

    Rodney,
You have to see a Cactus League spring training baseball game. Either
in the Phoenix area or in Tucson. I've been to Catalina island, but it's
been so long ago it might as well have been in another lifetime. As a
matter of fact, I think it *was* in another lifetime...but if I remember
correctly is was pretty nice. If the bar "The 49ers" is still on PCH in
Long Beach, stop by. Used to have good sandwiches. Or maybe I was just
thirsty and anything tasted good after all that beer. Ah, 1971...
    Have a good time,

    > Hey gang, I thought of no better place to ask advice on traveling
somewhere than this well-heeled group. I'm going to visit Mom this week in
Phoenix and then see some of my business partners in Palm Springs,
Huntington Beach, Long Beach and then finish up some business in Scottsdale
next week. I'm taking Mom with me to visit the SoCal clan on the weekend
and we were thinking of hitting Catalina Island. It's been on my list for
many years and I missed going to special events there during my dancing
days. Any advice for this round trip from Phoenix and back? Mom is having
me rent a car instead of using hers since I tend to destroy most anything I
drive even for a short trip... Weather there is better than anything in
Chicago right now. We are up for adventure. Mom taught me how to "party"
(scary thought about mom for those that know me already).
