Hey Larry: I've always said that NA$CAR is the Roller Derby of Motorsports. The only thing missing is the Figure 8 track layout of the old Jalopy Derby atOld Ascot Park. And some of the rules are also puzzling to me. Can anyone out there tell methe logic of the 40th place finisher being awarded more prize money thansometimes the 12th? That don't make no sense to me, but I guess you have to be a'good 'ol boys' to get it. Or put in a southern vernacular,To this veteranauto racing slut, "That dog don't hunt," as we say down here in East Jesus,Arkansas. The other thing that has a burr under my saddle is the 35 guaranteedstarting positions for the 'in-crowd.' Week after week, slower cars that are starting because of points scored last year, or the drivers are former winners, start in place of faster newcomers (many who are road-racers.) I think that Tony (Danica: Where the couch?) George tried this at the Indy500 a few years ago, and ended up starting almost 40 cars, instead of 'The 33Fastest Cars in Motorracing!' Remember? <g>Is it any wonder that the 2nd most popular 'motorsport' to billy-bob ans hisCuz-wife, Peggy Sue is Monster trucks? I think not. That said, I can hardly wait for the Daytona 500! I ought to be there and I can't give you one decent excuse for not beingthere.Hey Willi -- you missed 2008 and 2009 I believe that NA$CAR is in real trouble. There weren't as many people in the exhibititon areas for the free shit, and pictures, and there weren't any lines at any of thesouvenier trailers, no matter who it was -- They were practically givingstuff away at the Daytona Flea Market. A lot of people went to the racesdressed like an empty seat - a lot of empties, and they were practically giving away tickets to the racesl Larry ____________________________________You're invited to Hollywood's biggest party: _Get Oscars updates, red carpetpics and more at Moviefone_ (http://movies.aol.com/oscars-academy-awards?ncid=emlcntusmovi00000001) .**************A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above.
