I worked all of the US F1 GPs except the first two.  In all that time, I only 
saw two races - the first two.  Officiating in the pits I saw a lot of stuff, 
just not the races.  I was on the grid when 5 cars started, or however many 
there were that year.  The first thing we knew of problems was when race 
control came on the radio and said, "Grid marshals be advised, some cars may be 
returning to their garages."  If that isn't classic understated British, I 
don't know what is!!! :-P
