Blasphemy!OK I can see replacing the S2000 motor, its got a nice redline (right Lash?) that attracts the wrong kind of attention... But the E46 M3 motor, while leaky and expensive and it sounds like shit with the stock exhaust, is probably one of the all time great motors (clearly not a sales guy here)... Seriously it screams to redline, is as elastic as a motor can get and sewing machine steady in power delivery. If Ferrarir were to ever do another 6 cylinder car, they should look no further... The E36 Euro motor is pretty much the same beast, the US variant has an awesome power curve but is rather ho-hum overall, most BMW faithful would call the US E36 M3 a 332is rather than the real deal. Personally I think the overall package of the US variant is still pretty good, all it needs is a higher redline :)

Mike, the S2000 and E36-46 BMW conversions are the ones that really cause the death threats...and as you say, all are lighter, 2x the power, 150% fuel economy and handle better due to the weight distribution. Man now I am thinking of getting a crate motor for my C6 and taking the LS2 and putting it into an old Boxster....
