Chrysler is no better than GM at the moment, and probably worse. My 2006 Ram SRT-10 has been in the shop for the last five weeks and appears to be likely to stay there at least another three. Ironically, the truck has been quite good for reliability - 75K+ miles with nothing but standard maintenance on a 500+ hp motor. What has it hobbled currently is a bad radiator fan control module. They are on national backorder and Chrysler can't get them from their supplier. I have been unable to determine whether that's because Chrysler is on credit hold with them, or that the supplier won't build them until they have a certain demand, or they don't want to get stuck with inventory in case Chrysler bankrupts or what. My dealer has been terrific, as always (Rick Hendick Dodge, Charleston, SC), but they are stuck because the truck is still under extended warranty and Chrysler will not give them any leeway with using used or aftermarket parts, even in this special circumstance. I have called Chrysler's Consumer Hotline numerous times for information or bitching therapy and guess who answers that 800 number? You've got it - Indians! Polite, but completely impotent Indians, from a Consumer standpoint. And they are wondering why we won't buy American? Grr. My Testarossa is by far my most reliable and serviceable car. -- charles
