This generated some amazing responses.
Fillippe somehow assumed I was going "green weenie" on
this with his "lifestyle choice" response.

All I was curious about was Robert's mileage.  No value
judgement there.  Just curious.  Period.  I've driven dozens
of late model Corvettes, but not in the manner that Mr. Bowser
has.  I have to defer to his experience on this matter.
And it was a really interesting response.

Some here have somehow assumed that the collective "we" don't
know a bit about physics.  Yes, WE ALL know that energy/fuel
consumption goes up expontially with velocity.  (re: we are talking
wind resistance here......).  So my amazement that Mr. Bowser was
able to eck out some 17mpg at 130 was not unwarrented.  It's
quite extraordinary, IMHO.  That's pushing a lot of air for a modest
amount of energy.  I doubt that few, if any, other cars can equal
that.  The downside is that he may have to have Al Gore as a
co-pilot on future trips to prove to the eco-nuts that it is possible.

On the other hand (OTOH for you geeks), maybe the brown stain
in Al's shorts will prevent such occurances from reaching the
public mainstreem.
