Legends Dream Car Tour Update

It's not too late to register for Gotham Dream Cars' upcoming special event,
the Legends Dream Car Tour. News of the event has been making its way around
the 'net (check out

to name a few) and seats are selling out quickly. But there are still a few
available, and we'd love to see some familiar faces join us for what's going
to be an amazing experience.

In case you haven't heart, the Legends Dream Car Tour will give car lovers
and Lamborghini enthusiasts the once-in-a-lifetime experience to drive
several of the newest Lamborghinis alongside one of the most famous test
drivers of all time, Lamborghini’s own Valentino Balboni, on more than 150
miles of open road in the New York Area.

You'll drive nearly every model of Lamborghini produced since 2004 --
including the brand-new *Gallardo LP560-4 Spyder* and the monstrous *Murcielago
LP640 Roadster*.

We’re offering two Legends Dream Car Tours a day for two days straight, on
June 9 and 10. Join us for a morning session (8 a.m. - 1 p.m) or afternoon
session (2 p.m. – 7 p.m.) Each tour will include breakfast or lunch
(depending on which session you select) at our clubhouse in Northern New
Jersey, a full vehicle overview and safety presentation, and a meet and
greet with Balboni. The Tour will then put you behind the wheel of each of
five cars, including time riding shotgun to Balboni as he leads the tour as
the Grand Marshal.

Seats for the tour must be reserved in advance, and can be purchased for
$1495.00 per driver. Non-driving passengers can attend free of charge, as
always.

Memorial Day Weekend Availability
We're still in disbelief that it's already Memorial Day Weekend (wasn't it
just New Year's Eve?). But with everyone's favorite 3-day weekend comes the
unofficial start of Summer, and that is AWESOME.

We're mostly sold-out for the upcoming weekend, but we do have 2 vehicles
still available -- the Lamborghini Gallardo
Coupe<http://gothamdreamcars.list-manage.com/track/click?u=77340cc7724b2ca7e03467ac6&id=c7486930d1&e=edb2a21f0e>and

 Special Preview: Ferrari California
Recently, we had an opportunity to spend a bit of seat-time in an upcoming
member of the GDC fleet -- the stunning new Ferrari California. WOW. What
a car. We were excited about it before, but now we're downright giddy.
Some thoughts from Founder Noah Lehmann-Haupt below to whet your collective
appetites...

In short: I love it. That's not to say that you all will love it, because
the car is definitely very different from the Ferraris that we're all used
to. But taken as a whole, after looking at the pros and cons, I definitely
love it.

It's smooth, slick, and powerful -- and despite having less power, its
low-end torque is > than the F430 so up to 60 - 70mph or so it's faster than
a 430 in a straight line (weee).

It's also comfortable -- it's easy to get in, easy to get out, easy to
drive. Great exhaust note -- totally Ferrari-like...stock exhaust is very
close to a 430 (a touch more muted). But it's also less harsh and more
melodious....in fact, it's pretty obvious that the exhaust note was VERY
precisely tuned by the factory...it's a very pleasant-sounding chord of
awesomeness. But with that comes a slight sense of artificiality..."why does
this comfortable GT car have such a muscular Ferrari-like exhaust note?"
That part is very German. "YES, WE WILL BE SEXY AND ITALIAN NOW".

The transmission -- ohhhhh the transmission. This is hands-down the best
part of the car. It's the new double-clutch jammy. UNBELIEVABLE. I've
actually never felt anything like it -- there is ZERO, and I mean ZERO, lag,
hesitation, jerking, whatsoever when switching gears. Running it up from 1st
to 4th is like one big, long, CVT gear. It just revs, blip, revs, blip,
revs, blip. Perfect. Really exciting and feels like no other car I've ever
driven.

The transmission is also tamer -- there's an auto mode that really, truly,
drives like an automatic. You can still grab the paddles and blip,
downshift, upshift, but 5 seconds later the auto will take over again and do
the legwork. Turn off the automatic and you're back in full F1-mode. So it's
easy when you want it to be and fun the other times.

And I guess therein lies the part that makes the car both brilliant and
not-so-great:

It's the best - or worst - compromise car you'll ever drive. And it all
depends on your perspective. From the glass-half-full view: It's powerful
AND tame; Fun AND comfortable; Coupe AND Cab. It's more comfortable than a
430, lighter-feeling than a 599, looks good with the top up or down.

But that's also the problem and the issue many die-hard Ferrari fans will
have with it -- put another way:

It's a 599 without any of the oomph and a 430 without any of the fun. It's
a car far from the extremes -- a "meet in the middle" kind of Ferrari. So
it's going to appeal to the every-day driver more than any other F-car, and
that's the point. But that also means that some die-hards may - not
necessarily - but may be disappointed.

Interior: One of the best I've ever seen from Ferrari. Slick, modern, yet
still Ferrari-like and luxurious. Great nav system. Little LCD screen to the
left of the driver a la Enzo/612/599.

Rear seats: Believe it or not, these are actually usable. I set the front
passenger's seat to be comfortable for me (6'2"), then hopped in the back.
Definitely not something I'd want to do for a long ride, but I fit. Very
snug, but I fit. My legs were kind of wrapped around the passenger's seat,
though. I'd liken it more to riding on the back of a motorcycle -- you're
in, you'll get where you need to go, but you ain't moving once you're in
there.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it...
