Whoa! What was recently discussed was replacing the Income Tax with a National Sales Tax - what they are taking about now is a new 10% freakin tax!! An extra 10% in taxes to pay for a govt health car system is madness.

OK - time for something controversal (maybe) - I don't think there's a health care crisis in this country - at least not to the extent it is being portrayed as. Visit any Emergency Room at any time day or night and you'll see people with the flu and relatively minor injuries being seen by ER physicians. There's usually a sign on the wall saying everyone will be seen and treated whether they have insurance or the ability to pay or not.

IMO people without health insurance use the ER for medical treatment. I also think the media distorts the situation. When someone believes they need some kind of treatment and the insurance believes the treatment either won't help or will not improve the patients lifespan, it is reported as "Insurance denies treatment" - when in reality they are denying payment, not treatment. If the patient's family will establish a payment plan (granted, it may be a lengthy one) the treatment can be done and paid for. After all, doctors and hospitals deserve to make a living too.

Especially if the govt wants to control health care!

But enough of all that - time to talk F1!
