Your reply illustrates why F1 sucks so bad today. There could never be a P34
type vehicle ever with Bernie in place.

I was reading a section of Mark Donohue's Unfair Advantage last night while
flying home from San Francisco. There was a description of how he broke an
engine in the Porsche 917-30 during one of the early weekend heats of a Can Am
race. His mechanics scrambled and took the motor out of the spare car and put
it into the race car. I immediately thumbed through the prior pages and my
notes to confirm that it was a legal move for 1973. Of course it was!!!

Only my recent acquaintance with stupid F1 rules caused me to doubt it in the
first place...so lame!

Shortly after, my wife, who was seated next to me picked up the book and
started reading the captions about the 917-10 and 30. She asked me what "Can
Am" was and what the rules were...I explained the rules to her in seven words.

What has the world come to?

Nah, no Tyrrell.  It takes too long to change all those
tires.....................
