Hi Larry,

I don't know about the US, but there's here in Canada. I've seen a couple.
No mistaking the styling cues from the 3x8 cars, but the 288 looks more
muscular, and pretty cool with the trans sticking out the back.

There are a few in town here, but I haven't seen one on the streets in
years. There was a cafe on our main street here, where a guy with one would
go. I remember I parked and got out for a look at it once. Parked on the
side of the main road, but the rear wheel up on the curb. lol. Gotta
remember, back then they were special too, but ppl seemed to drive their
special cars more than they do now.

Not sure about the cars performance. I think that was back in the day with
the Italians must have breaded the strongest horses in the world, so it was
fine to call one Ferrari horse, 2 horses from anywhere else. lol. I think
R&T did a test once, and got some good numbers out of the car. They later
tested a customer car, and it was way down. If I remember correctly, they
felt the original test car must have been massaged a bit, and the boost
turned wayyy up.

It had a proper interior, but was homolagated for race I think, but the
later cars, like the F40 were designed to give the owner more of a race car
"impression" with it's bare interior, than the 288. The 288 is a very nice
looking car in the flesh.
