Hi Lash -Does SM say how/where he was trained? Shadetree to Ferrari dealer? I guess in the 60s that was still possible. I was part of a VW/Porsche Apprentice program in the late 60s where I learned a great deal - but I wonder if Ferrari had anything comparable?
No big deal, just wondering. Pretty sure he's a mechanical engineer - that probably got him started along with a desire to work on exotic machines.
Thx - LarryT "How come the proposed 'universal health care' excludes congress?"----- Original Message ----- From: "LS" <lashdeep [at] yahoo.com>

I am reading Steve Matchett's "A Mechanic's Tale" currently...very good. It is based on his rise into F1 and quest for a Constructor's Championship. There is an interesting recount on his tenure at a Ferrari dealership during the mid-late 1980s. He talks of doing major services on a TR and his first sighting of a 288GTO. His knowledge of transverse gearboxes in these Ferrari road cars gave him an edge and a foot in the door to work for Benneton.LS _________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe or modify your subscription options, please visit: http://lists.ferrarilist.com/mailman/options/ferrari/l02turner%40comcast.net Sponsored by BooyahMedia.com and F1 Headlineshttp://www.F1Headlines.com/
