Definitely take the Denver & rocky mountain scenic routes. Almost any of the 
secondary roads in Colorado, starting  north of Denver  area near Ft 
Collins, and going over the Continental Divide into Estes Park &  Rocky 
Mountain Natl park, and then zig zagging down to the spectacular route 
550starting in Montrose CO and continuing  through Ouray CO, Silverton CO 
and down to Durango. Many  switchbacks and spectacular scenery in that 
section alone. It's called the Million Dollar highway.Probably the most 
spectacular route to drive south of Glacier National park in Montana or 
Grand Teton Ntl Park WY.
