No worries on that, I have some fakes that are pretty convincing.
Just got back from Hong Kong a while ago. I stopped in Lo Huo to get
some more watches for folks and some art and purses for the wife :)
I have plenty of very real looking fake watches at the moment, Patek Phillipe, Mont Blanc, couple of Tag's (Grand Carrera and F1), a see through Rolex Daytona, and a Ulyses Nardin for a lister (that was a difficult one to find), all very nice quality. They had several Panerai watches, maybe 15 different ones, but no Ferrari ones.
It was funny looking at the real Rolex's in some of the high end shops in Hong Kong, no way to tell the difference on them, really, but I did find there are 3 grades of fakes, cheap ones (looks right from top some missing detail, movement is tick tick tick,) mid range looks dead accurate, movement smoother but some slop in the littler bits like stopwatch, and good, which are dead ringers, movement, clear back, weight, self winding, etc. The cheap ones can be had for about 10 RMB, the nice ones its hard to get them below 350 RMB (without a Chinese coupon), mid range ones are around 100 to 200 RMB.
As for Hong Kong... Wow what a cool city, Has a similar vibe to New York without all the attitude. Fun to wander around the city. I had about the best Peking duck I have ever had. South Seas Restaurant... Very good. (former best was at Feng Shui's in London of Leicester Square). I took a video of the aquarium where you can choose the seafood you want to eat... Big big turtles in there. And I got an answer: Red Wine goes with turtle.
Car front... Saw several Lambo's, tons of Bentleys, Several of the new Rolls Phantoms, only one Ferrari (599), plenty of Porsche's also. In Macao there were not any F-cars in sight, but these people look to have invented the Fast and Furious crowd. Saw pimped out ricers, everything from a tiny Suzuki 2 seater to some Nissan GT-R's (new and older models). Sad to see such nice rides boxed in by the traffic 100% of the time. Very beautiful city/island...
So a fun weekend... Monday it is back to work though. BR, Mike Rodney Ramos wrote:
Yes, a post that includes watches AND Ferrari! Local authorized panerai dealer has in-stock ferrari panerai 35% off! Tourneau in Vegas or Chicago wouldn't even match it. Only three left at the store near me. I was about to pick one up but I got a real good deal on a breitling cockpit diamond - those NEVER go on sale. Luxury goods that usually never go on sale can be had with serious discounts is one of the few good things about this economy. The jeweler that handled macy's got kicked out of all stores and they are desparately reducing stock 60%-70% off retail through other locations. Carson Pirie Scott in my area. Carrera Automatics 60% off! Movado 70% off. Bailey Banks & Biddle too but not as deep discounts but different jewelry/higher line. A friend who is a factory watch rep told me that's below cost and he is picking up a couple from a retail store because he can't even get that deal. Earlier this week in Vegas, I even scoped out local pawn shops for deals. Surprisingly, many items were priced higher than on sale retail stores. Retailers are desperate. Sorry for dragging on. I still just can't believe the deals I got! I spent more on watches yesterday than on my newly aquired track car. I'm still trying to figure out how to explain BOTH to my girlfriend (doesn't know how much I spent yet!) without having to buy her jewelry... LOL Maybe I'll tell her Mike got the watches for me from China. You got my back bud?
