I am 6'3" and can drive the 328 comfortably. I don't think I'd choose it
for cross country, but I have driven one for a full day's mountain drive
and enjoyed it a lot. You do need the monkey position, and a lot of it
depends on whether your personal body tends to be more torso or more
leg, so I would try to find one to drive for a longer time than the
typical 20-minute test drive and see how you feel. Also if you are
interested in track events, try to bring a helmet to see if you can wear
that in the car (unless GTS, but in some events you are speed limited if
driving open-topped).

While every Ferrari has its issues, I think the consensus here is that
the 328 is probably the best sorted Ferrari ever straight from the
factory. You might talk to someone at a dealer in the parts counter
because as with all cars, Ferrari made running changes through the life
of the 328 and the parts books will tell you at what serial # certain
updates happened.

For your re-sale comment, I think the ones that have been for sale for a
long time are from the same people whose house is not selling. Lots of
owners cannot accept the significant economic shift we have experienced
and if they can't accept that the car is not worth what it was 2-3 years
ago, they will have it for a while. The other reason is that when money
gets tight, owners start deferring maintenance, and a savvy shopper will
avoid a car that has been neglected for a while, even if the miles are
low.

If you want a really nicely sorted driver, contact Robert Rehkopf on
this list. His may not be as cosmetically perfect as some, but he has
taken excellent mechanical care of the car, and having driven it, I can
tell you that it is a solid performer. It's much cheaper to get a nose
re-sprayed than to go through the mechanical issues like Mike James
detailed yesterday on his 308.

Hi Guys,

I'm looking for a 328 and wondering if there are any negatives or common
problems with that model to look out for? Also I'm 6'1" with long legs
and hear the leg room is brutal in these cars. Any tall guys out there
with a 328 that can comment.

Appreciate your help and time.

cheers!
