In the end, it really settles out to "who" should be paying the price that allows such a profit. hy do you think that so many seniors who live on the northern border cross over and buy their prescription pharmaceuticals in Canada and what supports the large number of Internet pharmacies. In the instant case the U.S. market subsidizes the world and Americans are left with either high brand name prescription prices or having to resort to using generally inferior generic pharmaceuticals. Yes, I know that they tell you that they all contain the same active ingredients but you need to look further than that. Are these AA, Ab or even lesser comparable generic pharmaceuticals. Remember that any capsules (and these are really distribution medical devices in the most primitive exemplar of that category) or tablets have inert or other components that will most probably be inferior in generics vs. name brand pharmaceuticals. Much of this problem could be resolved in a simple manner. Simply apply a tariff of 200% of the differential in price between the lowest price that the export of the identical or pharmaceutically equivalent (got to have something to catch the same device that appliance manufacturers use to prevent or mitigate price comparison guarantees by changing a small non-critical part and then applying a different part or product SKU for each major distributor, e.g. Sears, Best Buy so there really isn't an "identical product" at a competitor) and the highest list price for its sale in the U.S. Not a price control, just price equity. A manufacturer can charge whatever the market will bear, just requiring price equity. It would also avoid those stupid restrictions that Congress likes to put on appropriations legislation that prohibit government agencies from negotiating prices with a pharmaceutical manufacturer or require other competitive pricing. And you thought that a "lobby" was where you waited for someone to come down from their hotel room. In that way, everyone who benefits from a pharmaceutical contributes to the admittedly high and high risk costs of drug development. Just as there is another simple solution for health care in American. Just eliminate ALL government funding for research and acquisition of pharmaceuticals for the treatment of HIV-AIDS and commit that funding to research and drug development relative to heart, stroke and vascular diseases, Diabetes and non-HIV-AIDS related, e.g. Camposi's Sarcoma, Cancer(s). This (HIV-AIDS) is a syndrome that is virtually universally preventable and the modalities of transmission indicate that one might say that the high-risk behaviors that transmit make it almost voluntarily acquired. I don't care how one behaves, nor if an individual wishes to make a non-tax deductible contribution to a specific field of research, I just don't want to fund it or participate in it. In fact, some might say that HIV-AIDS is simply Darwinism in action and such preventive research simply acts in defiance of natural law. Now, I shall simply let further postings, perhaps those lesser in compassion, to Dr. Ken, who I feel states many things in a suitably accurate and precise manner requiring no further input from me.
