Funny, of all the things wrong with my engine, this drain worked quite well - I
had to scrape/scrub the area well to clear it from grease and grime, but once I
loosened the drain it was relatively simple to operate and close.

During engine disassembly, there was roughly one gallon of coolant 'hiding' in
the engine tubing, water pump, and other areas.  This stuff won't drain even if
you pull the radiator return hose AND the block drain petcock - 'oh well'.

Don't forget to drain the engine block using the petcock.....there's fluid in
there that doesn't drain well otherwise.

WRT to the condenser - on the 308, the radiator and the condenser are kinda
bolted together at the bottom of the units, obscured by the spoiler and
grill so you may just have to pull your radiator to get to those mounting
bolts.  Once your A/C system is purged, I would think you can just 'cut the
lines' and pull it...?

I am going to flush my coolant.  I purchased one of those flush
kits.  I am supposed to attach it to an inlet (to engine)
hose.  There are two hoses attached to the coolant tank.  The smaller
hose is on top of the tank and the larger hose is right under it at
the bottom of the tank.  Which of these is an inlet hose or is
there  another accessible hose that is an inlet hose?  When I looked
at a diagram, it appears that the upper hose is the inlet hose but
before I cut the hose, I want to make sure.  I also intend to take
the thermostat out so that I don't have to start the engine and keep
it hot to get complete circulation of the water.  If the bottom hose
is the outlet hose from the radiator to the coolant tank, can I just
take that hose off at the tank and let the coolant run out from there
into a bucket.  Thanks for any help.
Also, since I never use the A/C, I would like to take the condenser
off from in front of the radiator.  How can I go about taking the
condenser off so that straight air reaches the radiator rather than
go through the condenser?  Are there any web site which show how to
do it? Thanks
Jim
