It was the Director of the Patent Office in 1929 (I may be off on the year). But around then.
;-)

Bizarre isn't it? No more inventions. But if you think about the things he'd seen - telegraph, telephone, electricity as a home appliance and medical triumphs growing by leaps and bounds. Of course, it says something about his lack of imagination ... all this following 100 years as a agricultural country... .
