;-)Bizarre isn't it? No more inventions. But if you think about the things he'd seen - telegraph, telephone, electricity as a home appliance and medical triumphs growing by leaps and bounds. Of course, it says something about his lack of imagination ... all this following 100 years as a agricultural country... .

I recall reading or hearing that in the early 1900's some one (possibly a Congressman or Senator) proposed closing the patent office, because every thing has been invented already. Shucks, and I was just getting ready to start a new career as an inventor.
