It will stop now. Socialism is the smother of invention.

But around then.

Bizarre isn't it? No more inventions. But if you think about the things
he'd seen - telegraph, telephone, electricity as a home appliance and
medical triumphs growing by leaps and bounds. Of course, it says something
about his lack of imagination ... all this following 100 years as a
agricultural country... .

I recall reading or hearing that in the early 1900's some one
 (possibly a Congressman or Senator)
proposed closing the patent office, because every thing has been
 invented already.

Shucks, and I was just getting ready to start a new career as an
 inventor.

Speaking of old technology that is (or should be) in new
vehicles, my 1939
car has built-in hydraulic jacks that you can lift the car
front, rear, or
both from inside the car. Someday someone's going to tout this
as new
technology!

Most GM cars do too. I haven't touched the

Interesting how the auto wipers work. The
rain hits a small
grid on the W/S (often behind the rear view
mirror) and an
optical sensor detects distortion in the light
passing thru.
