Hey Rick -Congrats! A friend of mine had a 72 V12 E convertible - we used to ride to work together and because he knew how much I liked to drive - especially sports cars he usually let me drive. Yep, no end of torque and I'd be surprised if you ever get near the redline in any gear - it just keeps going and going, faster and faster, while the tack needle hardly seems to move!
OK, problems I know of -There's an ignition module mounted between the V which dies of heat stroke at least once a year - you might consider putting some heat insulation around it for protection - and be on the lookout for a replacement module. It's not "if" if dies, but "when".
The electric cooling fans also had a habit of deciding not to come on as they should - a cleaning of the motors, etc usually fixed them - but without those fans it *will* overheat pretty quickly.
You might notice a theme here - electric gremlins - Lucas at its best - but as with any LBC, a good maintenance regime will prevent many problems.
I have no experience with the Jag AT - any idea what the source is? Seems there was a GM connection with Brit Leyland at some point.
The good thing? Back it up against a brick wall - an enclosed garage is best, then fire it up - that song alone is worth the price of admission. As with any (?) V12 when it turns over it's like a sewing machine - then it lights. Very cool - at speed it always reminded me of a P51 or Spitfire doing a flyby.

Hello Friends,This is just a short note to announce that we have added a V12 to the Lindsay Scuderia. Yes, we still have the 308GTB, the Mondial QV and the Triumph TR3. Now Nancy has a '73 Jaguar E-Type, V12, automatic with A/C. Mr. Phil Tegtmeier found this car for us and as if to continue his reputation, the car is even better than advertised!http://www.aubard.us/Jaguar/HPIM1974.JPGFor 30+ years Nancy has quietly tolerated my sports cars, not able to drive any of them because of their manual gearboxs. She now has her own sports car. It has a PILE of torque in any gear and the big 5.3 liter V12 is electric-motor-smooth. The manual gearbox version of this car will pull away from stop, in to gear, idling! The GM automatic leaves one wondering why anyone would mess with manual gear-shifting at all. Add in power steering, power brakes and a nice cool A/C and she has a sports car that she can actually use in Houston's heat.Back to lurking. -rick _________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe or modify your subscription options, please visit: http://lists.ferrarilist.com/mailman/options/ferrari/l02turner%40comcast.net Sponsored by BooyahMedia.com and F1 Headlines http://www.F1Headlines.com/
