Interesting thread, I don't have the economic clout of some of you, but the
dealer should have some respect for the customer.
I had a 2002 Avelanche bought from the same dealer as the 1999 Silverado b4 that.
Our daughter had her 4th child now we had to up the number of seats from 5 to 6.
To make the this long story short the dealer knew our monthly payment (GMAC)I asked what kind of deal would they do on a trade ( this is 2004 gas prices had not gone crazy yet)
They came back with $600 a month for 6 years, I said NO They came back with $500 a month for 6 years, I said NO and started to leave They came back with $500 a month for 5 years my WIFE said YES! End of story She has put up with me since 1966 (married 1967) She is a keeper. So go alone is good advice but ..... Stephen----- Original Message ----- From: <philville [at] dejazzd.com>

Best advice yet, "don't be a horses ass, treat the seller with respect" ....this could well make the difference between acceptance and rejection, some times it is not all about money.-- Phil Philip A Tegtmeier 39 Churchill Drive Elverson Pa 19520 610.525.8949 philville [at] dejazzd.com When you have a minute, check out; www.radnorconcours.org And of course, go to; www.philvilleUSA.com ---- Bob Ochsman <ochsman [at] gmail.com> wrote:Damn good thread. I've done many car deals over the years. Been screwed twice and that's enough. Here is my two cents:- Do not bring wife/girlfriend to the showdown. My wife once blinked (just a tug on the arm, and I knew I was toast and the serious dealing was over)and cost me a couple of hundred bucks on a new Tundra. - Be ready to buy then and there. Make sure the seller is convinced of that.- Be ready to walk in a heartbeat. The seller has to be know that you haveno problem walking.- Be patient. Real patient. Once took me 6 months to get the car I wantedat the price I wanted to pay. Still have that Ferrari. - Don't be a horse's ass. Treat the seller with respect.- Price? Easy. Just decide a non-rediculous figure that'll make you happyand will bring you a warm glow everytime you look at the car in yourdriveway. Weld that amount into your brain and never waver. Believe me, if you're patient, you'll get the car you want at the price you want to give.- Remember, you've got the wallet, you've got the time. Everything's in your favor. Never give up those advantges. _________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe or modify your subscription options, please visit: http://lists.ferrarilist.com/mailman/options/ferrari/philville%40dejazzd.com Sponsored by BooyahMedia.com and F1 Headlines http://www.F1Headlines.com/_________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe or modify your subscription options, please visit: http://lists.ferrarilist.com/mailman/options/ferrari/sherman%40wildblue.net Sponsored by BooyahMedia.com and F1 Headlineshttp://www.F1Headlines.com/
