The north side is not really developed unless you hike down to Havasupai Village, thus the south side is probably your best bet. Everything is centered around the Village, I don't think there are any other restaurants in the region. I recommend staying for a day to hike around, possibly part way down the canyon. The cottages are RIGHT on the rim, you are seperated from the 5,000' deep canyon by a 10' walk path and a 3' stone wall. The train from Williams to the Grand Canyon is interesting, with a fake train robbery and cowboy songs, but it got old after 3 hours. my .02, Mark Lueker 308 SYSTEMS Inc. 970-282-7006 www.308systems.com -----Original Message----- From: stewartchung [at] comcast.net [mailto:stewartchung [at] comcast.net] Sent: Thursday, February 04, 2010 1:27 PM To: Mark Cc: The FerrariList Subject: [Ferrari] NFC: Grand Canyon tips anyone? hi all, i am taking my 11-year old son down to vegas next weekend for chinese new year and also taking a couple of days to see the grand canyon. it is shameful of me i know but i have never been to the grand canyon. would any of you offer some tips to us? for example - 1. go to the north rim? or the south? 2. is it a one-day visit? or should i stay a night? 3. any "must-sees"? like caverns and stuff.. 4. nice place to eat? lizardburger? just fyi, we will be flying in to vegas and renting a car to drive there. after the visit, we would need to drive back to vegas, return the car, and fly home. i know some of you are thinking why i don't go to the web and research - the web is full of grand canyon stuff - problem is they are mostly commercial sites that try to steer you to patronize them. so i thought to turn to my friends here and get some trusted advices. thanks in advance. stewart seattle, wa _________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe or modify your subscription options, please visit: http://lists.ferrarilist.com/mailman/options/ferrari/misc%40308systems.com Sponsored by BooyahMedia.com and F1 Headlines http://www.F1Headlines.com/
