What was it -- oh yeah - Chris Pook, 1975. $5,000 you may just throw away. In what you ask? A road race through the streets of Long Beach California USofA. Huh? Wadda I get for 5K? Um, a VIP ticket for Fri, Sat & Sun. A red jacket. A chance to rub elbows with he likes of the Ford family representative and F1 drivers. It lasted for awhile. Wonder how it turned out once F1 left in the early 80's? Chris still have any investment?
Just asking
DOUG

I wonder if the organizers will be able to make it work financially after the costs of a F1 grade facility, Bernie's mandated hospitality amenities (a significant upgrade cost @ Indy) and, of course, his cut of the action.

Want to make a small fortune?

It's easy. Just start with a large fortune and then go into business with Bernie Ecclestone!

This event would have a much better chance in Utah, at MMP than
it will in the most liberal city in Texas. Just my 0.02

Not sure if I COMPLETELY buy that, there are quite a few venues that
could manage it. I liked the Indy F1 event. I also think Miller
Motorsports track could easily do it, and SLC was able to host the
Winter Olympics.
