Dude you can buy any 355 and remove the power steering... 

Its not that difficult to do :)

If the Vette wasn't so damn capable I'd consider an F355 6 spd but they are pretty slow by today's standards...  And I would hate to take it to the track and be spanked by a Boxster in it.  And as some have said, its the last really pretty Ferrari has done, the 458 is a looker too, but I am not 100% on board with it, the LED lights and funky front end... 

To me a Ferrari's value goes up proportionately to the decrease in the number of douche owners who wax and polish...  F355's are squarely in that territory now.

A 308 in general can receive that comment as could a whole plethora of 3 series Fcars. The idea behind the euro glass is to have the best of the best, a rare treat of a car. I've mentioned before that the average 308 is eh to me these days but a properly sorted carbed 308 GTB with deep chin spoilers and QV rims is still a stunning car to look at. A 308 for the 308 historian and I remember reading Geoff Willoughby's "308/328/Mondial" book cover to cover numerous times during the summer of '96....the glass car is special.

You're buying it for the same reason you're buying a 365 BB or another vintage Ferrari...the coolness factor.
 
Having said that I probably need to buy some modern toys before I get knee deep in the vintage Ferrari game. :)

As for the 355’s it better be a late model one otherwise its trouble


What about getting an old one and just dumping money into it? How much would it cost to do the updates and a major service at the same time?

To me the 355 has a bit of that 308 throwback in that the earliest cars had cool things about it (namely the OBD-I setup)...

I'm still looking to own the first manual steering 355 in north america and don't see any challengers. :)
