Ferrari doesn't do this - but Michelotto still does.....
This is where Risi Competizione gets their winning 430 race
cars.

A long time ago - in the 1950's when
Porsche was hand building their engines it was not uncommon to find a
motor randomly assembled which would out perform the others.
These were set aside and labeled Hochleistung - or something like
that.
So it wasn't long before the general hot
rod public contacted the factory and asked - hey - Matias - can you do
such and such to my Normal motor? You know, make it a
Super? Factory response - sell your Normal and buy a
Super.
I guess Ferrari would take the same point
of view. Imagine the liability mess if Ferrari hot rodded a
motor and the dear loving owner turned it into a pyrotechnical
display of vital parts.
Just thinking.

Was wondering if Ferrari was willing to accommodate
all these custom requests and work on vintage cars, would they ever
consider building custom motors for customers?
Imagine a
modern day interpretation of the Flat 12 in the TR series....4942
cc, but instead of 440 hp, maybe something like 520-540 hp? This
would be inline with the new GTO power/liter.
Of course the
sound would be 'EQ'd' by the customer. Their work on the 599 GTO
shows they know how to play when they want to. :)
I know this
won't make sense to many of you, but if you had all the money in the
world it makes perfect sense!
I'd also be ultra excited if
they would be willing to re-engineer the suspension and wheels for a
512 BB....and also to give that a factory blessing.

ps - Thought about a 308 getting the same treatment but
would be cheaper to buy a 288!
