I hear ya - I'd be lucky to get *one* foot on the seat ;-)

I remember reading one of those reports - where a reporter went for a ride in a 2 seater. They were truly at a loss of words to describe the acceleration, braking and corning. They ended up saying eloquent stuff like - "Oh Wow Man - That car is so friggin fast!" Yup, they had a problem with adjectives.

I have a video of various fast cars (like the 288 GTO and 959) along with a little ford shoebox popular in rallying. They built one using a Williams F1 chassis and whatever engine they were using at the time - then they put F WIlliams in the passenger seat - wheelchair and all, then went for a few laps around Silverstone.

Talk about a loss of words! He had a goofy grin on his face and literally couldn't talk! LOL - people asked him questions and he just looked at their mouths saying the words - like he was having trouble hearing. He was obviously impressed... ;-)

Take care -- Larry

Naw Larry - just woofing on the topic. Shoot - put me in ANY F1 and I'm crap.

I recall sometime ago Renault let a writer FINALLY drive one of their old F1's. He went to school, got all hopped up for it and after the day of his drive - his impression was this:
1 - NEVER in my life have accelerated that fast.
2 - The brakes are SOOO good, I would dive deeper into a corner than I have ever gone (think this guy was an ex-Formula Atlantic or some other pretty impressive open wheeled car) and would stop BEFORE the turn - then I would have to get back on the gas to GET to the turn so I could break again!
Wow - sez I - those F1's gotta be something from outer space.
heh heh

Of course at 6 feet 190 pounds - all I could do is stand on the seat. I saw Schumacher's car at Monterey and got close up of the foot tunnel. Damn - that looked like a condom for the legs

I understand what you're saying but is the Mercedes *that* bad? I didn't see the time spread between 1st and 15th - maybe it *is* that bad. MS had a 1:39 something. Vettel aas 1.37.5 so 2 seconds difference - wow! 2 seconds is a lifetime in F1 --

I'm watching in HD - the quality of even regular TV is so much improved that it's like night & day. I guess it's a combination of better TVs and improved TV input?

BTW, the pre-race show just started --

BTW, I watched part of qualifying this morning - MS is still struggling.
Can't tell if his 3 year layoff is at fault or the car is not doing its
part --

After witnessing his greatness for so long it's hard to watch him working so
hard for a 15th spot!
