If you can find one that can connect to a PC via USB, that'd solve your problem.  Once the video is transferred to a computer you can do all kinds of things - there's free software to burn stuff, edit, add chapters and overlay audio or labels.

 

BTW, if possible look for a machine that will recognize and play multi-country codes and/or formats (NTSC vs PAL) - you never know when you might need that ability.

What is the name make model of the vcr/dvd recorder...I know they exist but don't know what to ask for...the copyright protect gizzy would be especially valuable.
 

I have a friend that is a snowbird and he loaned me vcr/dvd recorder when he went south 3 years ago. I liked and bought the current model, hooked it up and started to record the WIRE got a message that it was copyprotected. So I hooked up his again

and recored it no problem.
