Thanks! Also Paul Bennett sent me weakkness.com and I saw that Tivo has model that has DVD burner.  I am on Direct TV

so I not sure if has video and audio in or just a tuner. Thanks I am becoming more aware of my options.

 

I have a friend that is a snowbird and he loaned me vcr/dvd recorder when he went south 3 years ago. I liked and bought the current model, hooked it up and started to record the WIRE got a message that it was copyprotected. So I hooked up his again

and recored it no problem.

 

So I bought a unit like his and it worked for almost 3 years. So I bought another one it worked long enough to burn 3 DVD's.

 

Now I can only find used on eBay.

 

I could understand if I was recordind Blu-ray and dolby 5.1. But I am recrding for my personal use.

Tivo's website has a PC app called Tivo Desktop.  The intent

is to transfer Tivo recordings to your PC for archive purposes.

But when there, you can burn to your DVD.

I have a collection of F! that goes back to Mid 80's origionaly recorded on Beta some are converted to DVD.

My DVR records the F1 races but but does not burn DVD's.

 

I am running out of room on my DVR.

I have no problem recording the races on either Speed or Fox

with either of my 2 Series 2 Tivo units.

 

I have a "season pass" for "Formula One".  Finds the shows

every time.
