More on wheels - Several designers I have had the pleasure of meeting or 
knowing - the guy who designed the Audi TT and was on the "New Beatle" 
design team (it was really a "Concept Car" as the team was in the Audi side 
of the house - right - - - ah ah ah) and the guy who did the Enzo said shiny 
wheels pull the eye to the wheels and leave the car behind.  We're like 
trout - we go after sparkly things.
That said - its a person thing.
