The 348 almost bankrupt FNA with service bulletins The worst ones were the tail lamps melting! Good things about the 348: 1) It "carried the flag" in the face of Honda's NSX... :) In objective terms, the NSX was the higher performance car, but I do recall that a number of mags said that the emotion of the 348 trumped all that. 2) Supposedly had a cool nickname (Piccolo Testarossa) among some of the internal factory folks. 3) Had (arguably) tauter styling than the Testarossa; side grates were less "grating", and had a very athletic stance (first of the modern cars that gave the impression of lunging forward). 4) Had a really great AutoWeek cover (when it debuted at Frankfurt). 5) For better or worse, pioneered the layout architecture that was to characterize the next decade+ of the V8 cars. Worst thing about the 348: Fake front grill (DOH!)... -- Alex _________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe or modify your subscription options, please visit: http://lists.ferrarilist.com/mailman/options/ferrari/clyderomerof4%40bellsou th.net Sponsored by BooyahMedia.com and F1 Headlines http://www.F1Headlines.com/
