Yo Tom - in my minor minor racing experiences (karts and tight road courses in a Porsche) my recollection was long straights, a short straight, a medium straight hooked together with L or R hand entrance. Mostly just a blur. RIR was very different but Laguna Seca was the series of straights with L or R entrance's blurs.

I liked what David Hobbs said during the broadcast of Spa. He explained
that Spa was a course all the drivers liked in part because it seemed like
you were going somewhere, which, after all, is what a road course should be
all about.

Hi Francis,

Glad to hear this view, and yes, I was just reacting to the homogenisation
that now seems to be the Tilke trademark, especially in contrast to road
circuits like Spa, Watkins Glen, Mt Panorama, etcetera.

Cheers,

Grahame

Sorry Grahame

Although Tilke designed it, Tavo Hellmund was insistent on what he wanted
and to my mind this is a really good track with various interesting series
of corners and good height differential. All too easy to be critical JUST
because Tilke had a hand! I think it looks like a very good track.

Best

Francis
