Hello,

          I never had storage issues either with real gas, even Bikes outside under bike covers in Michigan winters! Maybe the snow insulated them? Of course I use stabilizer products now, just in case, even in lawnmowers! Here in Texas most equipment gets used almost year round. I saw a second generation Ferrari TestaRossa survive 11 years of barn storage without gas caused issues but it needed a lot of TLC elsewhere. Oil of certain brands can get funny if run then stored long periods. On new used vehicles I do several fill run and drain cycles at short intervals to get the "product x" out. Probably brake and hydralic clutch fluids should be changed too?

Here in Canada, the premium road Shell contains just gas.  They cut their lower grades, but the premium, which is what Ferraris run is fine.  Ask for a 1-800 number at your local stations, and check to see who's adding what to what brands.  Companies may vary as to what they add, due to local laws and requirements.

The only time I ever had a problem with an old CIS car, was when I stored it with a tank of fuel that contained ethanol.  Other than that one experience, I've never had a problem  ( 20 plus years) storing a car, with non ethanol fuel, both with, and with a stabilizer for 7+ months of storage, no starts.

    Back when I rode BMW M/Cs, gas with ethanol would ruin diaphrams and seals in BING carbs very quickly. I retrofitted R90S model DELLORTO carbs which seemed to have no problem.  SHELL aviation gas ran wonderfully in those machines too! The local small airport would fill up the tank with no questions about road tax.
