I've had nothing but vintage cars in the last 7 yrs...Ferrari, Shelby, Lambo and haven't had much trouble finding anything. Everything is on ebay, forums, craigslist, etc.
The last vintage Ferrari I had was used almost as a daily driver at times. Never had any problems with it. My wife just completed about 36 days of consecutively daily driving our '66 Shelby and it was fantastic. We garaged it for about 6 days when it was raining.
Maybe I've just been lucky for 7 years and through 8 cars...and every single mile I've driven each of them.
Someone asked me about my 97 Cobra the other day. "Where do you get parts?"
I didn't know what to tell him. I've had the car 13 yrs and for 97k miles...never needed any parts except a water pump and thermostat. I've spent $35 on the last 4.5 yrs with the '66 GT350...it's needed an ignition coil last summer. The 365 needed a set of spark plugs ($30 from Autozone) and a carb adjustment during the 2.5 yrs I owned it.
I just said "I don't know."
Are you guys jumping your cars into lakes?

The major problem with old cars is where do you get the parts?
If you drive them things will break!
Unless you have a machinist with a CNC machine and the parts manuals itâs not worth the effort as far as I am concerned
Even if I had Bill Gates money I would let someone else have the headache
Its like owning WW2 warbirds its for the insanely rich!
I would rather take the money and travel around the world and see different places

Agree. How much higher are 300SL gullwings going, as they are e close to a million now. Daytona's are already in the decline as are most others, not a crash, but they are coming down. 275 GTB/4's are close to 1M as well, 330 -365 GTC's are over 300K. these are cars people want to drive, not just put on a lawn, so I do not see much more appreciation at this point.

They are in the basement and will be there for the rest of their lives.
I am curious on how the 458 will hold up in the long run.
With no belts to change out this could be the one to watch

We could start a long, boring discussion on market trends of commodities, but instead we should just start shopping for a 300SL Gullwing.
So what's next for you then?
